The former family home of Winston Churchill's house is a beautifully maintained estate that balances an interesting history (Winston is still the most famous and renowned Prime Mister the UK ever had) and perfect countryside vista, as the grounds provide many hours pleasure and diversion. It's a bit of a commitment getting there as you're nearly an hour's drive from Grays (but it's not far off the M25 at seven oaks).
