This absolute gem of a town is just 20 mins drive from Grays Centre, you will need to cross the bridge to see it but its the best little town on the Medway. Go visit the Upnor castle for a history lesson in local heritage, its a true insight into the local history (its older than any building in the united states if you want some context) but it also offers fantastic views for the Medway and the boating traffic riding on it. And on a clear day transports you to a world quite apart from essex and its blandisments.
