Not really proximate to Grays and quite a commitment at an hour and half drive but it’s good to get out of Thurrock from time to time. This is actually still a working estate and farm; with an impressive stately home with surprisingly intimate modern looking rooms, and a garden that is straight out of a postcard in its perfection. The Farm is excellent as children can interact with some of the animals grazing. Overall a very satisfying way to spend a day as this is still clearly a functioning estate and not a derelict monolith of mansion. Worth the visit but be prepared for a long drive.
