Purple assist disabled, older people, learning difficulty clients and parents of children with disabilities to recruit Personal Assistants/Carers to support them to remain in their own home or within the community with the appropriate care.

You will be employed directly by the client and will not be contacted unless your application has been successful. if you choose to become a Purple Match member you will be contacted direct by clients using this service.

A Disclosure & Barring Service application may be required by the client. This will be paid by the employer should you become their PAYE employee.

Rate of pay: A 1-month probation is part of the contract however the £12.50 per hour is paid from the start of the role. 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata) and a Workplace Pension scheme are also included.

Hours: 30+ hours per week

Job description: Personal Assistant needed to support a man with a Neurological disorder.

Support needed with maintaining the cleanliness of the immediate environment, and personal care, to the highest standards of hygiene. Moving, positioning and support to mobilise.

Own transport required, although it is not a necessity to use own transport for this role.

Willingness to work for 1 or 2 awake nights per week is desirable (but not essential), in addition to daytime hours. Other additional hours may become available, so we are looking for someone who is flexible. Breaks to be discussed, if invited to interview.

Experience or qualifications:

Previous experience of caring for elderly people with all aspects of personal care including washing, dressing, medication, toileting and meal preparation is essential. Also, experience of working with people with a Neurological disorder is desirable.

We are seeking PAs with a mature attitude, who are friendly, caring and patient. You will need to act with dignity and respect always. Be able to work independently but at certain times closely with another carer, depending upon variable needs.

You will need to be punctual, as there are tasks to be carried out at certain times. Attention to detail is also a key skill, as records are to be kept accordingly.
