The job of MET Technician







As part of a team of technicians you will undertake the dismantling and reassembly of damaged vehicles, to an extremely high standard, in accordance with the prescribed method, ensuing that that stripping and rebuilding work of all vehicles is carried out in a professional and correct manner and that final quality checks are undertaken in line with applicable standards. An important aspect of the MET Technician‚??s role is to also ensure that all jobs are completed within the estimated times. Checking that all parts are ordered as per estimate is also a given with the purpose of ensuring that the repair can be completed without delay, returning all unused parts to the parts department for credit. The MET Technicians job also includes ensuring that equipment used is operated in accordance with defined safety requirements



You will report into Scott Melloy, General Manager, who has been at Nationwide for ten years. He is passionate about Customers and his team and is absolutely determined to make his bodyshop the best in group. It‚??s an amazing team!











What you will be doing



Our Bodyshop is fast paced and exciting with lots of opportunity to make an incredible difference and apply your expertise and skill. In the job of MET Technician you will be stripping and fitting different marques of vehicle. This means performing repairs to an extremely high standard. It is also important for you as a MET Technician for you to fully understand different manufacturers literature and bulletins so you are fully up-to-date.



Another very important aspect of the job is teamwork as you will be working with other colleagues in the bodyshop as well as across other functional areas.

Chris started as an apprentice and says ‚??I finished my Apprenticeship here but I‚??ve never stopped learning and developing my skill set. Nationwide have given me the opportunity to complete my ATA Accreditation and Aircon qualification as they saw that I had the potential and that I was eager to learn. I did the course at our Technical Training Centre in Goole which has a team of dedicated trainers just for Nationwide Team Members.

What we think good looks like



As a MET Technician we would like you to have an interest and passion in what we do. With professionalism appearance we would also appreciate it if you had your own stocked toolbox, excellent job knowledge and be highly motivated. Naturally, due to the nature of the job you will need to have a full UK/EU Driving Licence and the relevant qualifications for the job (ATA, NVQ Level 3, or City and Guilds as well as experience in the accident repair environment). We will help and support you with the rest
