Ingredients:
- Good quality Steak (at room temperature)
- 2 garlic's crushed
- 1 dessert spoon of butter
- Splash of olive oil
Method:
First you need to make sure you have got a decent quality steak, go cheap and you'll end up with a piece of rubber regardless of how you cook it.
Heat the garlic and butter in a pan on medium heat.
once its melted and caramelized add a splash of olive oil and turn the heat up to high.
after a minute (or when the pan is very hot) put in the Steak.
Its about 2 to 3 minutes per side for med-rare 4-5 minutes well done, 1 - 2 mins. for rare only turn it over once.
When its cooked take out the pan and pour some or all of the butter mixture over the steak.
let it stand for a minute or two.

Garlic fried mushrooms.
Using the same pan add a teaspoon of butter and a table spoon of olive oil. (little more garlic if you wish) And heat until the its caramelised again.
Then add the mushroom (chop in half if you want them to cook faster) and sprinkle 2 pinches of salt on top and put a lid on top of the pan.
Turn the heat down to 1/3 of the max heat and let simmer for 5 mins and siring occasionally.
Check if ready after 5 mins, it may need a minute or two longer but it’s to your own taste at this point as they will be cooked through.
