Demi Moore

Demi Moore was once synonymous with A-list glamour and exclusivity. In the 80s she broke on to the Hollywood scene with the critically successful "About Last Night" and went on to establish her name in the bratpack classic "St Elmo's Fire", a film that could be said to have been the template for the sit- com Friends. But It was of course the film "Ghost" that cemented her as the biggest female star in the world as that time and she was able to capitalise on this off screen in marrying the then biggest Hollywood star of the time Bruce Willis forming the original modern "Power Couple".
It all started to unravel for Demi after the film "Striptease" for which she was paid over 12 million dollars, the film was a popular flop and with the subsequent failures of GI Jane and then every other project she touched it seems the adage that stardom is a fragile thing was certainly true for Demi. She was divorced from Willis shortly after the failures started to rack up, married toy boy Ashton Kusher who quickly decided that he was better off alone as well and now Demi Moore is a name that the current film generation simply do not know.
Her time since her divorce from Kusher has been spent largely on the tabloids as opposed to the red carpet to some measure, She of course has her charity work which included campaigning against people trafficking for prostitution and animal welfare (but she was photographed in 2007 wearing fur so this may have sparked this sudden conscious). But the reality is that even though she continues to make films you have to go back to 2003 to the dreadful Charlie's Angles to find a film shes' in that you've actually heard of.
So why the sudden fall off? Possibly it was that as a on screen star she was so limited that the public tired of her very quickly, and the absence of Bruce Willis would not have helped her cause, basically her career is a template lesson in the futility of stardom and we would not expect to see her on screen in Thurrock any time soon.
