
Berat, Albania. Berat is an old and historic town located at the base of the famous Byzantine fortress. It is a picturesque town loaded with ancient churches and mosques in the way new-towns seem to have Banks. The River Osum flows through it and divides the city into two districts and lends the old town its classic postcard views. Berat is called a "museum town" or "city of a thousand windows" such is the historic character that prevails and is regarded as the Prague of Albania.
